Tanzanian Bongo artist Ommy Dimpoz has narrated how he disappointed Kenyan footballer Victor Wanyama by turning down a 30 Million deal.
In a long post on Instagram, the artist reveals how he was faced with a dilemma when a white man offered to buy his ticket which would see him watch a football match that Wanyama was participating in.
According to Ommy, he got an invitation from Wanyama while he was in Germany where he had traveled for a routine health check up after surgery.
The singer had in the past few years been in and out of hospital and after several surgeries, doctors suspected that he had cancer.
To get a clear diagnosis on the same, he was expected to part with millions of which he did not have at that point, the doctors later agreed to treat him without any charges and results only indicated he had a bacterial infection and not cancer as medics had earlier suspected.
After receiving this good news, Victor Wanyama who had been constantly checking up on him invited him to watch the football match in Madrid.
Although the white man’s deal was quite good, Ommy says that he could not accept it because watching the UEFA match between Tottenham and Liverpool was one of his biggest dreams.
On that day, Tottenham lost to Liverpool and after Ommy narrated that he refused to sell his ticket, Victor Wanyama thought it was stupid that he choose the match over money.
Ommy narrated this story as he celebrated his birthday as he recalled how God saw him through the ailing period.
