Amina Abdi to Host the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards in Lagos

In a world full of bad news, it is always great to report something worth celebrating. Kenya has one more reason to celebrate the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards besides the list of Kenyan nominees – our own Amina Abdi will be hosting the gala night alongside Nigeria’s IK Osakidouwa. The AMVCAs will be held on 14th of March 2020 in Lagos, Nigeria.

Amina becomes the first East African to host the largest film awards event, a role that has previously been dominated by South Africans and Nigerians.

Amina has been on the rise on her career and the super woman she is cannot be stopped, sky is the limit. She hosts one of Kenya’s most viewed TV show, The Trend and has a few radio gigs. She has been busy hosting top level events in Nairobi and this only shows that the world is watching.

She will travel to Nigeria alongside the Kenyan nominees for the awards. Public voting has been going on on the DSTV website although it has since closed. Below are the Kenyans who have been nominated for the awards:

Victor Gatonye (Dreamchild) – Best Indigenous Language/TV Series (Swahili)
Joan Kabugu (Toy Car) – Best Indigenous Language/TV Series (Swahili)
