Gospel singer and TV host Kambua Mathu, on Thursday, January 30, revealed how people hurled insults and cursed her because she had not conceived after 8 years of marriage.
In an Instagram post, the Nishikilie hitmaker narrated how her husband – Pastor Jackson Mathu – was her biggest support system when when people mocked and called her names for being childless.
Kambua thanked him for not making her feel like she was less of a woman because she had not given him a child, adding that he constantly reminded her that she is enough.
“When God gave me you, He knew exactly what I needed. You have loved me, defended and protected me. You spoke life to me even curses and insults were piled on me,” she wrote.
The Bambika Show host and her husband welcomed a bouncing baby boy christened Nathaniel Muhoro Mathu in August 2019 and Kambua says that getting a child after 7 years is God’s way of fulfilling his promises.
In a previous interview, the gospel singer disclosed that she had gone through depression as a result of the insults that people threw at her for being childless.
However, she turned a deaf ear to the jibes and re-assured herself that God would give her a baby and her optimism paid off when she finally put to bed.
