The father to B Club disc jockey Felix Odhiambo Orinda, popularly known as DJ Evolve, has expressed gratitude to Embakasi East MP Babu for being thoughtful.
In an interview with K24, John Orinda stated that his son would be dead if the youthful legislator had not taken his son to hospital after the shooting incident that occured on January 17.
He went on to add that Babu had spent up to Ksh 800,000 on DJ Evolve’s medical bill noting that he was still in critical condition and was scheduled for surgery.
“Although we’ve not spoken, I thank him (Babu) for acting fast and taking my son to Nairobi Hospital. I think he would have died had he taken him to a medical facility that has limited equipment.
“The bullet touched his spinal cord so the doctors are saying that they have to do surgery to know what is amiss. He is likely to undergo the operation on February 4,” he stated.
Babu was released from detention at the Industrial Area Remand Prison on Tuesday, January 28. This was after he deposited Ksh 2.5 million – the first installment of his Ksh 10 million bail.
The controversial lawmaker moved to court on January 30, to have the cash bail reduced. He argued that he was already committed to covering the medical bill, and according to him, the bail amount was too much.
