The biggest sports betting firm in the country, SportPesa have flown in Two senior Hull City Coaches for a two week scouting mission in Kenya. According to information reaching our news desk, the two coaches, Richard Naylor, Head of professional development and Kris Blakestone,Lead youth development coach are in Kenya to attend games, training sessions and run their eyes over the country’s top football players.
The coaches arrived in Kenya early today and will be in the country till November 20th courtesy of SportPesa. The Hull City coaches are hoping to scout 50 players from the 16 Kenya Premier League teams who will later on join a training camp in January 2017.After the January training camp ,a team of 16 players dubbed ‘SportPesa All Stars’ will be selected to battle it out with a Hull City side in the UK ,followed by a return leg in Kenya thereafter.
The move is part of SportPesa’s mission to improve Kenya’s football to Global standards and ensure the country makes it to the 2022 world cup. Making the announcements, SportPesa chief executive officer, Ronald Karauri said that he was excited by the prospects. ’’’SportPesa All Stars’ will be flying Kenya’s flag when they play Hull City and we are certain that the best players will be selected for the training camp and the squad.’’ He said.
The two senior Hull City coaches have already hit the ground with their first trip taking them to Nakuru where they are attending today’s all important match between Tusker FC and AFC Leopards. They will also be attending Harambee Star’s two friendly matches against Liberia and Mozambique, training sessions for Thika United, Bandari FC, Ulinzi Stars, Ushuru FC, Chemilil Sugar, Muhoroni Youth among others.
