Following the launch of CCTV on Wednesday evening Kenyans on twitter filled timelines with remarks implying that they were impressed.

China Central Television (CCTV)after poaching the creme de la crème of Kenyan news anchors like Mark Masai, Haridh Salim, Peninah Karibe, Beatrice Marshall Celestine Karoney, Jane Kiio and Ken Mijungu went on air with a different taste of news mainly features.

Some of the congratulatory comments were from The Vice President via Ginadin PR “I must hail CCTV Africa for recruiting 90% of its workforce locally – VP, Kalonzo Musyoka,” read the Gina-din twitter account.

Political journalist Oliver Mathenge also joined in applauding the new TV station based at Yaya Ccentre “First broadcast from Nairobi shows Kenyan journalists are good. Now Kenyan media houses should up their game!” he twitted

The newly employed news anchors and reporters are on a three year contract. Well lets see how long they can impress the Chinese:-)
