Samsung Electronics East Africa has signed a Kshs.4million deal with the Kenya Rugby Union set to cover the current season of the Union’s calendar and which is set to go a long way towards the development of rugby in the country.
Making the announcement earlier today on Samsung’s website, the company said, “ As part of the company’s Built for Africa strategy, Samsung remains very passionate about sporting activities based on the company-wide belief that sports play a unique role in unifying people.”
This deal is set to see match officials and ball boys in all Rugby Union matches resplendent in branded Samsung gear.
“Samsung’s partnership with the Kenya Rugby Union is geared at facilitating the development of Kenya rugby while facilitating the mentorship of young rugby players under the Kenya Rugby Union Ball boys’ development programme,” the statement concluded.
Other tournaments which Samsung have sponsored on the circuit calendar include the Enterprise Cup, the Kenya Cup and the Bamburi Rugby Series.
