Former Gor Mahia FC striker Michael Olunga who has just completed a season at the Spanish club, Girona FC is set for great things as he has just become the first Kenyan to play professional football in Japan, in a deal worth $3 million for the Chinese club that currently he is in contract with, Guizhou Zhicheng. In this deal, Michael will earn Kshs. 15,000,000 per month.
Olunga joins top tier club Kashiwa Reysol who finished fourth last season in a league of 18 teams.
There has been transfer rumors about him over the last few months and he has been linked to moves to Everton, Manchester City, Huddersfield and Hull City in England.
Olunga had already been locked out of playing in China due to the fact that the Guizhou Zhicheng had already finished the quota of allowed foreign players in the team.
