With what Kenyans on Twitter regard as search for news, they woke up, took on twitter and searched for KTN News account, which has been disseminating news to them for over a long period of time now.
The search results that came to them as news were “This account has been suspended.”
KTN news has two accounts one @KTNKenya and another @KTNNews which they use to share news updates, more so breaking news.
As a norm, Kenyans wanted to know reasons as to why the account to one of the leading media houses in Kenya was suspended.
They however started posing questions to the media house using its alternative twitter account, @KTNKenya.
Until now, KTN has failed to respond to the questions, which has now left Kenyans guessing.
Some are now speculating that the account used to disseminate unverified news whilst others say it was a fake account.
It is however not clear why the account with 470,000 followers was suspended. But according to Twitter, most of the accounts that they suspend are suspended because they are spammy, or just plain fake, and they introduce security risks for Twitter and all of the social media tool users.
