Kenya Pipeline Company’s depot in Kisumu County is currently recalling trucks that were apparently loaded with water as opposed to the requisite petrol, allegedly by mistake.
A driver, Abiud Jaffar, noticed a leakage from his truck and got concerned then raised the alarm.
I suspected that the water was as a result of the heavy rain which pounded the region yester night but realised that something was amiss,”
Jafar Reported the matter which immediately resulted in the recall of all the tankers that had been loaded up to that point.
A non committal Kisumu Depot manager Herman Munga said the Matter is under investigation ans could have affected an unknown number of vehicles.
“We have received the complaints and have called back all the people affected to be able to establish what could have gone wrong,”
“As an institution, we take seriously any issue raised and don’t want members of the public to be adversely affected,” he said, adding that other brands were not affected.
A good number of the tankers had gone as far 60km before being recalled.
According to The Nation, an anonymous driver had started offloading his load in Bondo before realizing the error.
