The curtains suddenly fell for one of Kenya’s most watched show, Jeff Koinange Live(JKL) after a successful 300 episodes. This comes just a few days after KTN allegedly disowned him when the heat got too much following a huge public outcry after an episode that aired last week. Jeff Koinange announced his last appearance on the show on Thursday, November.
Jeff’s well manicured reputation and brand was dragged in mud after the fourth last episode where he was accused of allowing Miguna Miguna to viciously attack his rival ,Esther Passaris in what the public urged was uncalled for. The two Nairobi Gubernatorial aspirants exchanged unprinted words as Jeff and his crew watched. All the blame was laid on Jeff who was expected to do better than just watch in dismay.
Following what has been seen as a serious public outcry, KTN seems to have succumbed to pressure from the public and terminated their contract with Jeff Koinange. On his last show, Jeff apologized as he announced it was the last Episode of JKL on the station.
‘’Anyone who felt offended by the show between the two personalities should understand that its hard to control a live show but I apologize to anyone who felt aggrieved.’’Jeff said after hosting gospel singers Emmy Kosgey and Sinach.
‘’Thank you Kenya,300 episodes and 10 million viewers for every episode is insoiring. We appreciate you.We will be back on another channel and will be bigger, just ensure you follow us on our social media accounts.’’ He concluded.
His sentiments were echoed by his recent social media post that confirmed the show’s sudden end.
