Fired Royal Media Services Employee Opens New TV Station

SK Macharia’s media company Royal Media Service dropped the axe on some of its employees whose jobs came to a sudden halt. Among those who lost their jobs include Kirigo Ngarua ,Terryanne Chebet and others. While some took to flying outside the country for a breather, others sunk deep into depression. However, there are those who used the sacking as their inspiration. John Marete, formerly fired Royal Media Services manager decided to venture into a field he is so familiar with. Barely weeks after being shown the door ,Marete started his own TV station called Weru TV.

Mr Marete, equipped with great entrepreneurial skills opened Weru TV, a station that broadcasts in Meru dialect. The station was launched on Christmas day with its first shows receiving much love from viewers across the country. The new station boasts of other great talents from Citizen TV including Makena Wamatiri and Young Muthomi. Weru TV has embraced the use of latest digital technology which gives out a very clear signal.
