The association of Broadcast Film and Music Africa Professionals (BFMA) has brought together content producers, film makers, music performers and bloggers in a two day conference which kicked off on Tuesday. The event which aims at promoting local programmers is held at the Kenya National Theatre where a host of radio/TV broadcasters, film producers, music producers, animators, advertising agencies and bloggers converged since yesterday to exchange ideas through industry development forums, training workshop and panel discussions.
This year’s conference is BFMA’s sixth series which focuses on providing a stock-taking opportunity for stakeholders in the concerned industries and empower them with the knowledge and business contacts they need to build Africa’s electronic media future. The expo has registered quite a high number of participants, drawn from different fields including radio, TV, Print among others. Speakers highlighted issues affecting the industry and explore ways of overcoming the challenges in the industry.
The BFMA Conference aims at distributing content and making Kenya a winning creation content hub. Today’s opening ceremony was a sight to behold with an electrifying performance from Brookhouse School of Music. Judging by the number of attendees, this was once again one of the most successful BFMA Conferences.
