7 Things That Make John-Allan Namu Stand Out

John-Allan Namu
The first time I watched John-Allan Namu on KTN prime I knew he was a journalist headed to success that no one else had seen. He stood out and had something convincing about his voice. John rose to popularity when he started his investigative series alongside Mohammed Ali on KTN which exposed scandals and compromises that businesses, NGOs and the government had sought to hide from the public domain.
Our analysis of John in his career as a journalist is that there are a few things that make him stand out that we can all learn from and if we take a step in them, we might add to our success. Below are 8 things that we think make John stand out and that you can learn from to shape whatever it is that you do.
- Uniqueness:
Most Kenyan professionals seem to copy exactly what their role models or their seniors in their industries have done. John ventured into a tough side of journalism that no one had dared to enter. - He is Bold:
While he could have earned a good salary just being a news anchor and looking good on TV, John risked the next step, he made an identity for himself by being bold. - John is Humble:
I do not know much about his private life but most of what is public shows a man full of humility and respect for others. John does not engage in self praise even when everyone is talking about him, he seeks to further what he has by building on what he is praised for and cutting out on what he is criticized about. John will never retweet a praise like most of us would run to do. - Focus:
John is young, good looking with a shining career. He is married and has a family – this tells us he is a man who can set goals on his life and achieve them. Most of our celebs go for cameras and the high profile life. - Standing for the truth:
Most of us would not stand for the truth like John does especially considering how risky his ventures are. John has a zeal to seek the truth and share it with Kenyans and no matter now much this puts his life in danger, he opts to pursue it anyway. - John is Uncompromisable:
While most of us would easily drop a case if offered Kshs. 10m, John has kept his integrity even when we saw on camera a company offering him an amount he would need to save for years to put together. He has chosen the right path for his career. - John is consistent:
We have seen a lot of journalists move from one station to another and once they move, they become different people allowing their new job to control them instead of them maintaining their zeal and passion for what their calling is. John moved from KTN to NTV but he remained true to his call. Consistency brings growth and understanding of what we do.
We advise you to take a tip from John in whatever you do. Life is about making choices and pursuing your dreams at whatever cost. Have a great day.
